Pleasure Beach BlackpoolPleasure Beach Blackpool is one of the, if not the, top tourist attractions in England attracting over six million visitors a year. The premier amusement park is owned by the Thompson family who renamed the Blackpool Pleasure Beach to Pleasure Beach Blackpool or Pleasure Beach Theme Park / Amusement Park. This may seem a minor change but nobody can fault the excellent marketing of both the pleasure beach and the town of Blackpool so there is bound to have been some serious thought and inteligent logic invested into the decision.

From it's foundation, in 1896, the amusement park was styled to create something which would bring the child out of adults in a wholly innocent manner in an American style like the Coney Island funfair. The fairground/funfair was situated on 30 acres and sites were rented out to traditional fairground rides and stalls. The fair quickly became a popular attraction and in 1905 it became known as Blackpool Pleasure Beach. In 1923 the funfair moved to its present site (currently 42 acres).

Over the years the Pleasure Beach has broken many records for such thing as having the fastest rollercoaster and the likes. Today Pleasure Beach Blackpool features 125 rides and attractions which include such rides as the Grand National and the Avalanche, for the thrill seeker, and plenty of rides suitable for children. Other popular rides include the (Irn Bru) Revolution, Valhalla and the Pepsi Max Big One, one of the fastest, and tallest, rollercoasters in Europe.

The Bling ride at Pleasure Beach BlackpoolPleasure Beach Blackpool always seems to have the latest and greatest rides and it is for this reason it remains so popular. In fact it is the only amusement park in the United Kingdom to be included in the Top 25 Parks in the World list. In 2009 an entrance fee was introduced so even if you just want to wander around without taking a ride you will still have to pay a small fee. The introduction of this fee proved controversial but it remains in place.

Another unpopular change was the banning of food purchased outside the fairground. It is important to note that you are not allowed to take food into the Pleasure Beach Blackpool and rather than confiscate such items you will simply be refused admission. Inside you will find plenty of places to eat including cafes and restaurants, such as Cafe Boulevard, The Fish Inn and the White Tower Restaurant. There are also many fast food places to grab a bite, including Burger King and Willie Wurst German Sausages.
