Surrey is an affluent county in the south east of England bordered by the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Greater London, Hampshire, Kent and West Sussex. As a UK vacation destination the county is often overlooked and in most travel guides it only manages to gain the briefest of mentions which tend to focus upon the county town of Guilford and maybe Dorking. This is rather unfair because, as you can see below, the county features an impressive number of visitor attractions.

The county of Surrey is a commuter region for those working within the area of Greater London and as such it is one of, if not the, most expensive county to live in outside of the capital. Dotted around this beautiful Home County are some wonderful villages and hamlets worthy of a daytrip when staying in London.

One of the main reasons for taking a vacation in Surrey, for many people, is to enjoy walking in the various open spaces such as the North Downs. If you are interested in the history of England, surrey has a wealth of early architecture including churches dating back to the 13th century, plenty of wood framed buildings and other historic buildings as well as a number of fascinating windmills.
