Dundee is, fourth largest city in Scotland situated on the north bank of the Firth of Tay on Scotland's Eact coast. The dity has a long association with the wool trade but is more widely known for the production of marmalade. The region shows evidence of inhabitation from as far back as the Mesolithic period and has continually adapted to become one of the most progressive cities in Scotland. When the wool industry fell into decline the weavers of the area developed their skills in weaving jute (a cheaper material). Another trade associated with Dundee City is that of journalism and the city is commonly called the city of "jam, jute and journalism".
