Getting Around Mexico Through Air Travel
By Charlie Cunningham
The way travelers are getting around in Mexico is now being changed by air travel Mexico which includes many low fare carriers. It used to be that travelers to Mexico had to either take a long bus ride, use a rental car or pay a high price for a inconvenient flight in order to get around Mexico. However, air travel Mexico has undergone a major discount boom. There are five new companies that are starting to offer air travel Mexico options that are similar to the global airlines.
For the other major air travel Mexico flight the connecting flight between the major cities such as Mexico City, Monterrey, Cancun and Acapulco have seen a major drop in prices. This growth of low fare air travel Mexico comes from the decision of the government to privatize the Mexicana airlines. The other state run airline Aeromexico is currently being sought out by private investors.
Where You Can Fly
Of all the air travel Mexico options they are currently serving most of the cities in Mexico. The Click airline serves nineteen cities in Mexico in addition to Havana, Cuba and soon they will be adding Miami, Florida. The Avolar company flies to seventeen cities, the Interjet company to seven cities and the Volaris company to five cities. While these flights are mainly supposed to attract Mexican citizens to fly it also makes sense for travelers to Mexico to take advantage of this air travel Mexico to interconnect the cities they want to visit during their vacation.
Although while these flights are cheap and a good option, booking for air travel Mexico is still a bit difficult. Many of the airlines websites are in Spanish only so unless you have a translator or if you speak Spanish it can be a difficult process. Much of the information is difficult to figure out where the route it nonstop or connecting and how often the flights are offered. Air travel in Mexico is rarely done daily, but is usually don't on a weekly basis.
While you may be able to find a phone number for one of the airlines on their websites, it is then difficult to find an English-speaking agent when you call the company. You would also have to use a currency converter since the prices on the websites are only given in pesos. Although, these problems may be preferable to riding around Mexico in a crowded bus on bumpy roads to make it to your next destination.
