Recently entering the low fare air travel sector is Australia with airlines such as Virgin Blue and Qantas JetStar which have fares significantly lower than they were just a few years ago.

Tips For Getting A Low Fare

When you are flying with a budget carrier there are a few tips you should follow to make sure you are truly getting low fare air travel. Make sure you make your reservations as far in advance as you can since the ticket prices will often rise as the plane fills up their seats. If you can book a few months in advance and you will get a true low fare price. You should also plan your flight to be early or late in the day if possible to save some additional money. The cheapest days to fly are in the middle of the week on Tuesday and Wednesday while the most expensive times are typically Friday thru Sunday.

If possible you should avoid flying around holiday times. Low fare air travel is usually very difficult to find around the major holiday events or large sports events such as soccer matches in Europe. Around these periods you are likely to only find high prices and heavy traffic. Make sure you check all the budget airlines websites for special offers before selecting the flight you want to book. If available it may be a good idea to get on an email list for one or more of these airlines so you can receive up to date reports on low fare air travel.
