You are going to be carrying it through places you have never been, and you are going to be doing lots of walking and lots of riding on trains and other travel equipment.

Now more than ever it is important that you find just the right deal when it comes to your camera. You have to have something that you can take great pictures with, because remember you are going to be seeing amazing sites.

However, it has to be something that is quite durable and won't easily break. You should count on your digital camera for backpacking getting dropped, wet, and just generally becoming ragged as you go.

Another thing that you have to keep in mind when you are buying a digital camera for backpacking is that you want to be sure there is enough memory for your trip. Don't count on being able to dump the photos onto a computer, because chances are good that you won't get a hold of a computer. So, you should either bring memory cards, or get a large enough camera so that you can take as many photos as you want.
