Finding Bass Fishing Reports
By Angus MacLeod
When someone is going to go fishing, they might want to check out a bass fishing report. One source for finding these reports is in the newspapers. Usually in the sports section of the paper will be a once weekly report of the conditions of the area lakes. It will tell about what people were using for bait and how many fish are being caught. The bass fishing reports will also say what types of fish were being caught. This is important information for a bass angler to know because they can learn about other fish and what they are feeding on. Since bass are apex fish and they fed on other smaller fish, knowing where these fish are located is like a road sign saying where a bass fisherman should go to for the best catch.
The bass follow the other fish because that is their food source. Bass fishing reports can also be found on the internet. Other people will relay a day of fishing and where they were and what the fish were eating. This type of bass fishing report is usually hot information because it can be very recent and is straight from the mouth of other bass fisherman. Bass fishing reports are an excellent way to find bass. They won't tell people everything about the fish, but they are a starting place and since many lakes are big, it helps to single out unproductive waters that people might not want to go to.
Bass Fishing Reports That Are Not Useful
If someone is going to go fishing on a Wednesday and they look at the most recent bass fishing reports from the previous Thursday, the report won't express the latest information. This might still be helpful but most likely it will be helpful as a rag to check the persons engine oil. The bass fishing reports in the paper are great if too much time hasn't gone by. Something else to think about with bass fishing reports is that some people might file a phony report. If someone has found a spot that is very busy, they are unlikely to tell everyone else about that honey hole. This doesn't mean that all reports are not accurate. Most people will still give valid reports even if they are a little vague on the exact locations of the fish. The information that a person gets should always be returned in likewise fashion. Try to give an honest report in order to help other people.
