Petroleum jelly is one of the greatest inventions that can be used as an inexpensive beauty product. For example using petroleum jelly under a layer of lipstick will not only keep your lips soft and supple, but will also give a glossy shine to your lip color. This versatile beauty product also works great as an eye makeup remover because it moisturizes the delicate eye area while removing all of the makeup from the day. You can also coat your lashes with petroleum jelly at night before bed to keep them smooth and healthy. This method can also replace mascara on days where you prefer to go makeup free.

Products from the Pantry

Olive oil is another versatile beauty product that you can use for a number of functions. If you combine this kitchen oil with coarse sugar crystals, you can create an effective exfoliating treatment to use on your skin during your shower. It is also a great product to apply to damp hair before drying and styling, because it can keep your hair strong and shiny. You can use this oil to enhance your manicure by soaking your nails and cuticles in a bowl of it before applying polish. Following up this step with a rub of fresh lemon juice will keep your nails white as well as healthy and smooth.

There are other good moisturizing beauty products that you can find in your kitchen as well. These include oatmeal, which works well in a bath as a natural exfoliating treatment, and avocado, which can be mashed for a facial mask or a cuticle cream. Lemon and other citrus juices make great skin toners for oily skin types, and can also clean and brighten hair. If you decide to use a product from your kitchen as a beauty treatment, it is a good idea to test a bit of the product on your skin first to make sure that you don't have any kind of negative or allergic reaction to it prior to use.
