Blue Tooth Keyboard – Boon Or Bane
By Andrew Kelly

The Bluetooth technology has eliminated the need of wires for connecting one device to another. As a result, you can have any two or more computers communicate with each other; you can have computers synchronized with PDAs; computers interface with printers and fax machines; and so on – all without any wires at all. All this is possible through a tiny device called Bluetooth that uses 2.4 GHz radio short-wave signals, which require no licensing.

The Use Of The Blue Tooth Keyboard

The Bluetooth technology has freed the computer users from their dependability on wires. In this manner, you can have your computer ‘connect' with the mouse and keyboard without wiring it. Besides being a great de-cluttering factor, it is also a boon in many other ways:

1. You can make best use of a tiny tabletop space – you can put your laptop on the table and use your keyboard from a comfortable distance without having to worry about unbalancing the laptop with the wired-to-it keyboard.

2. It is excellent for extra keyboard and mouse for laptops – there are many people who are not yet comfortable using the keyboard and mouse of the laptop. Actually, it takes some time to get accustomed to the method of typing with speed on laptops. The hotkey board (mouse in the laptop) is also very elusive for those who are laptop beginners.

The blue tooth keyboard solves this problem in one shot. Since it does not need a wire connection, it is excellent and easy to use and hence makes the laptop easily utilizable. In this way, the user does not need to take any extra pains to type on his/her laptop.

3. Work on the computer from a distance – often presentations have the LCDs placed too close to the computer making it awkward to present. Here distance would make your presentation more effective. In other cases, you could place your laptop in the centre of the meeting/ class/ office and you can ‘remote-control' it with the help of your blue tooth keyboard and mouse to gain better control of the attention of your audience.

In this way, you could use your laptop like a common screen while you control the presentation from a distance for better impact. This is excellent for presentations where there is a large audience.

4. The blue tooth keyboard is an excellent device while traveling. You can ‘connect' to your laptop in the most uncomfortable conditions without putting the laptop in danger of toppling over. It is easier to balance the keyboard on your knees than the laptop when you fly or travel by bus.

5. Lastly, the blue tooth keyboard can connect to other laptops if required and hence, can correct, type or instruct on other computers as well. In places where classes are going on, or brainstorming sessions, this possibility is a great boon.

There are many benefits to using the blue tooth keyboard. However, the best and most basic remains the fact that it can connect to any Bluetooth enabled computer without requiring any wiring.
