Simplification With Bluetooth USB Adapters
By Andrew Kelly

Bluetooth Technology

Bluetooth USB adapters are a 21st century creation, but the technology was developed by some of the most well known companies to create a low powered, highly effective, networking solution. Bluetooth technology works on a very small scale compared to other wireless technologies ranging at about 30 feet, but it is very powerful able to work trough walls and needing no direct line of sight to the other objects it is networking with.

USB Technology

Bluetooth USB adapters are a step of the USB evolutionary process; USB technology has brought plug and play capabilities that were previously only hopes of computer technicians and enthusiasts alike. Bluetooth USB adapters have brought intuitiveness to this technological feat, to make USB technology even more useful than before. These advanced computer adapters can automatically connect with other Bluetooth technology to create a personal area network (PAN).

What A Bluetooth USB Adapter Does

A Bluetooth USB adapter turns a pc or laptop, with USB ports into part of a PAN; up to eight total Bluetooth devices may be connected to a PAN. This means a cellular phone, PC, wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, printer, automotive GPS (global positioning satellite) receiver, and home phone, can all use and share information with this technology. So many devices are using this technology, and so many new products will acquire this technology, that soon the 1950's area “thinking home” could be close to a reality.

A good example of using a Bluetooth USB adapter for a networking purpose is to imagine; someone needs to meet a friend at a movie, they make their plans via Bluetooth enabled cellular phone, and search the directions to the movie theater on their Bluetooth enabled GPS receiver in their car, which sends the directions to the PC using the Bluetooth USB adapter once they pull into their garage, which then prints the driving directions as directed by the person via cell phone from the car, and finally the next incoming call is automatically directed to their home phone.

How To Choose Bluetooth USB Adapters

When choosing any high tech new piece of equipment it is a good idea to research the specific product as there are so many varieties and manufacturers that produce virtually the same products. Reading customer reviews of products and as much company's product information as possible will make the purchase a well researched one; also it is important to ask the sales people for their expertise, many stores now train their employee's in the products they are selling to provide more service to their customers. Finally don't get talked into something that is known is not a good value, keep in mind what exactly is needed and wanted, and the budget clear.
