By Joanne Fletcher
Everyone loves chocolate and there is nothing more indulgent or decadent than chocolate fondue. Fondue was a very popular item at parties during the 1970's and now chocolate fondue is making a comeback.
Of course since times have changed so has chocolate fondue and the many ways to serve this delicious treat. Today there are many ways that it is presented and served. With the craze of white chocolate there are many who are using white chocolate fondue to thrill their guests and co-workers.
White Chocolate Fondue
For those who love white chocolate and want to impress their friends and family without a great deal of work then white chocolate fondue is a wonderful way to go. All you need is twenty four ounces of white chocolate, 1 cup of heavy whipping cream, two ounces of cherry liqueur. Melt it all in a double boiler or fondue pot, add fruit such as fresh strawberries or pineapple for dipping and watch your guests eat it up.
Everyone will always love milk chocolate fondue for various treats, be they for formal or casual occasions.. The liqueur that you choose is entirely up to you. There are many chocolate and coffee flavored liqueurs that will add to the richness and flavor of your chocolate fondue.
You can also add something with a mint or fruit flavor or it you really want a kick add a little rum depending on how you are planning to serve your fondue. These are wonderful for dipping shortbread cookies, pretzels, and a number of other finger foods along with your favorite fruit. Try orange sections or apples during your next get together.
How Do I Display Chocolate Fondue?
While fondue pots are practical for guests if you really want to make your chocolate fondue inviting to your guests then pick up a fondue fountain. This fondue fountain is quickly becoming popular among chocolate fondue lovers. Similar to the fountains that many display in their home for a touch of atmosphere, the fondue fountain adds atmosphere with great food to delight all of your guests.
Chocolate fondue is always a hit with guests and very easy to make and serve and even clean up is fairly easy for the host of the party. Just make sure to have plenty on hand as your guests will go back time and time again for more before the night is over.
