Can't Miss Attractions for a Perfect Disney World Christmas Vacation
By Charlotte Pennington

Forget "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" and "Let it Snow." One of the most Christmassy places on earth to spend a holiday vacation is the breath-taking Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Since Disney World encompasses several different theme parks, you will have to plan your Disney Christmas vacation carefully to make sure you see all there is to see. Your first Disney Christmas vacation stop will be the magic kingdom where Cinderella's towering palace has been inspiring the dreams of princess hopefuls for generations. Try to witness the tree lighting ceremony held lightly, of the wishes Fireworks display that closes the theme park at night.

But if you have the chance to do only one thing in the magic kingdom, make it Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Tickets cost between $30 and $40 per person, but are well worth the cost. For the price of the ticket, you get a fun parade, fireworks, gifts, treats, lots of photo opportunities, and selected access to park attractions.

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Come for the beautiful decorations and the amazing animal displays, stay for Mickey's Jingle Jungle Parade, which features traditional Christmas carols with a modern twist.
Though some people, usually the ones who have spent little or no time there, malign Epcot as the "boring" theme park, no Disney Christmas vacation could be complete without a visit to the Epcot Center. While you are there, pay special attention to the evening pyrotechnic show which ends during the holidays with a stirring rendition of "Let There Be Peace on Earth."

Another nightly spectacular to thrill the heart of any Disney Christmas vacationer is the Candlelight Processional. Hosted by celebrity speakers, this musical spectacular tells the story of the birth of Jesus. As might be expected, the lines for this very special show are often long. You can bypass the lines by purchasing combination dinner and show packages. Ticket prices vary from $30-$45.

Disney MGM Studios

Finally, complete your Disney Christmas vacation by visiting the Osborne Family Spectacular of Lights at Disney MGM Studios. This spectacle of lights began in 1986, when a man strung 1000 red lights for the amusement of his daughter. As his display increased yearly, neighbors became exasperated and threatened legal action. Luckily, Disney MGM Studios adopted the display, which now features five million dancing lights as well as countless other breath-taking decorations.

If you choose a Disney Christmas vacation for your family, you may initially feel sad longing for the traditional snow and icicles. But after viewing so many beautiful and charming holiday displays at the different theme parks, you'll find that you don't miss the frostbite one little bit.
