National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

This 1989 comedic Christmas movie is a favorite among many people. It involves the misadventures of Clark Griswald, a man excited about Christmas, and equally looking forward to getting his Christmas bonus. However, when he finds out that he will not be getting his bonus, he goes rather crazy. Things only get more complicated when his perfect plans for Christmas are hampered by the surprise arrival of rude family members. Will Clark and his family have a nice Christmas? This movie is an ideal choice for those Chevy Chase fans, and those who like slapstick humor.

A Christmas Story

This heartwarming and funny Christmas movie, made in 1983, has become a classic. It will particularly appeal to those who grew up in the 1940s, as the story is set in that era. The main character is a boy named Ralphie, and all he wants for Christmas is a Red Rider BB gun. However, he meets with much opposition along the way, hence the famous quote, “You'll shoot your eye out!” Anyone who has ever wanted a particular Christmas gift more than anything else is sure to like this Christmas movie.

The Muppet Christmas Carol

There are many different Christmas movie versions of Charles Dickens' novel A Christmas Carol, but this particular adaptation is sure to delight both adults and children. For those unfamiliar with the classic novel, it is about a man named Ebenezer Scrooge who has lived a miserly life and is doomed unless he realizes the true meaning of Christmas. Other adaptations might be too scary for children, but this one, with the popular Muppets leading the way, is tailored for children's viewing. However, the humor is sure to delight adults as well, making it a great Christmas movie for everyone.

To find the perfect Christmas movie, all one has to do is visit a local video rental store and survey the options, or perhaps ask other family members or friends for an opinion. One can also check the internet for various reviews, to make sure a movie is suitable for both children and adults.
