Fibromyalgia Syndrome Causes Misery For Many
By Phillip Johnstone
Fibromyalgia syndrome affects many people every year, and the causes and cures remain elusive for some of these patients. Although fibromyalgia syndrome affects so many people, the experts in the medical field have not been able to provide great insight into this condition. Some people seem to develop fibromyalgia syndrome more readily than others, and these people are usually older people. Fibromyalgia syndrome appears to cause great fatigue in many of those afflicted, but it is not clear why this condition makes people so tired. Fibromyalgia syndrome also causes debilitating pain for those afflicted, and many with this condition cannot function on a daily basis.
Fibromyalgia syndrome does not just affect one isolated part of the body, and most people who suffer from this condition feel pain throughout much of their body. Current statistics show that about five percent of the population is affected by this condition. There are approximately six million people in the United States who suffer from this condition. The pain affects the muscles and the bones throughout the entire body. The person seems to have pain all over their body. The muscles seem to be very affected by this condition. Fibromyalgia syndrome causes muscle twitching which increases the pain of this condition.
Fibromyalgia Syndrome Continues To Baffle Many Doctors
Fibromyalgia syndrome is a chronic condition that can affect a person for many years, and although so many are affected, doctors do not know of an exact cure for this condition. Fibromyalgia syndrome has been the focus of attention for researchers trying to find a cure, but these experts still do not have a perfect cure for this condition. Often the primary doctor refers the patient to other specialists for some relief from the pain. The researchers have not found the root cause of the condition so the treatment has to be for the symptoms of the condition rather than the disease.
Fibromyalgia syndrome symptoms are often treated by some alternative medicine specialists such as chiropractors who manipulate the bones for some comfort. These treatments do help some of those that suffer from this condition, but it does not eradicate the condition. The pain and suffering from this condition is not always constant and those affected feel worse at times. The patients need to work closely with their physicians and others to alleviate the symptoms of this condition. The researchers continue to work with those affected to try and find as much comfort as possible for those with this problem.
