Freshest Flavor Possible With Coffee Roaster Machine
By Wendy Simons
For the true coffee lover who insists on having the freshest coffee possible, a coffee roasting machine can make you feel like you just picked the beans yourself. Short of traveling to Columbia and picking your own beans, this is the freshest you can get.
You can find many sources for green coffee beans and have them shipped to your house. Then by using one of many coffee roasting machines on the market, you can roast them in about 15 minutes. Then, using your home coffee grinder, you can grind them, put them in your coffee brewer and experience the freshest coffee flavor you can.
Until about 1930 when rail and truck transportation made purchasing ready to use food items available, many people roasted their own coffee beans. Typically, this was done over an open flame, with one of the hazards being burned coffee, which detracted from the taste.
Soon coffee processing plants grew and ground coffee was canned and shipped nationwide, pretty much ending the practice of using a home coffee roasting machine. As this process continued to grow, some people started to miss the fresh ground flavor and started to go back to roasting their bean with a coffee roasting machine.
Canned Grinds Just Do Not Compare
Coffee beans, like any other plant, begin to die as soon as it is picked. Green beans are roasted in large coffee roasting machines and then ground and packed. Some manufacturers claim their vacuum sealed containers lock in the fresh roast taste. And while most is passable, the cans may sit in warehouses or on store shelves for weeks or months before being used.
For those wanting to try roasting their own beans and not willing to invest in a coffee roasting machine until they are sure it is something they want to do, raw coffee beans can be roasted in a stove-top popcorn popper. The one with the crank that turns an internal bar to keep the popcorn mixed while popping is the one to try.
This method can burn the beans, however unless you are careful with the heat, have patience when turning the knob and do not let them roast too long. If done right, this coffee roasting machine should produce good roasted beans that are ready for grinding and brewing. Once you have determined you like the taste of fresh roasted coffee, you can start looking into buying a coffee roasting machine.
