How to Care for Calphalon Cookware at Home
By May Brindle
Calphalon cookware is relatively new on the market; however, it has already conquered the hearts of many people and the sales are going strong. Since, it is new it has the advantage of the latest technology available today in the market. This cookware can self-distribute heat, is non-stick, and it is easy to maintain and clean. There are many names that merge under the umbrella of Calphalon cookware, such as Calpahlon One, Calphalon Tri-Ply, Simply Calphalon, Calpahalon Commerical and so on (all different models of cookware.)
Proper Maintenance Adds to the Life of Your Calphalon Cookware
Each of the cookware pieces will come with its own booklet where it will explain what and how should things be taken care of, so you can benefit the most out of the cookware you bought. Some very important points are listed below:
1. The Calphalon cookware is already non-stick. Hence, do not season this cookware; rather you will have to keep it sparkling clean, or the non-stick area will get messy and food will start getting stuck to the cookware.
2. The Calphalon cookware is made of aluminum, which heats much faster than any other known material. Initially cook on low fire until you find out what is the optimum heat at which you should use it. You should avoid using high heat at all.
3. You will need the minimum possible amounts of oil with Calphalon cookware because it non-stick and hence doe not need constant fat. When not in use, you should remember to rub it with a little protective olive oil.
4. Do not mix your food while cooking with metal utensils – since the wok and other pans of the Calphalon cookware are non-stick. Instead, the use of wooden spoons is recommended for mixing and serving.
5. In order to get the best out of your Calphalon cookware, remember to preheat it before you start cooking. You will know that ‘this is the right time to start cooking' when the cooking pot is hot at the rims.
6. Always, clean your Calphalon cookware with the help of soap and a dishcloth. The washing should be gentle yet thorough. Use hot water whenever possible.
The above points are a few things you should remember if you want to get the best out of your Calphalon cookware. There is nothing more satisfying than having the right cookware and being able to enjoy that too.
