Finding a Healthy Detox Diet Recipe
By Linda Rogers
Embarking on a new adventure into the world of healthy living can be a daunting task for many. People's lives are so filled with daily routines such as work, school, extracurricular activities, religious activities, and a variety of other things, that slowing down to take care of the body is a low priority for many - until sickness and disease hit.
At that point, the body is desperately alerting the mind that all is not well. This is the mechanism within that says, “Slow down! I need rest!” Yet, for many, they are too busy and distracted to heed that call. Yet, there is hope in helping the body detoxify itself while upholding an active lifestyle by using simple detox diet recipes.
Simple Detox Diet Recipes That Work
Simple recipes are not always easy to find. Many people think of recipes as requiring one to slave over a hot stove for hours; this is simply not true. There are many healthful detox diet recipes available which do not require long preparation times or huge quantities of ingredients. One such recipe is called Bieler Broth. It was created by a physician named Henry Bieler who recommended his famous broth for general well-being, fasting and energy. He claimed it was very good for the adrenal glands and maintaining proper acid/alkaline balance within the body.
The ingredients in the broth are four zucchini, yellow or summer squash, one pound of string beans with the ends removed two sticks of celery, chopped, two bunches of parsley, stems removed, fresh herbs like tarragon or thyme tied together, and one quart of filtered water. Bring the water to a boil with the vegetables and herbs, then reduce heat and allow it to simmer for a half hour. Next, remove the herbs and broth may be eaten as is or as a thick soup by using a handheld blender.
Benefits of Easy Diet Detox Recipes
Besides the obvious benefit of saving time in the kitchen preparing meals, an easy diet detox recipe allows one to save money on the cost of food used in preparation of the recipe. Also, the detox diet recipe will benefit the body with cleansing, healing over time, and more energy for the high-activity lifestyle so many enjoy. For those looking to rejuvenate their health or to gain back what they have lost through bad eating habits and lack of exercise, diet detox recipes can be the catalyst to initiate a chain reaction of healthy changes in the body, mind and spirit.
