Detox Recipes That You Can Make at Home
By Linda Rogers
The process of detoxification simply means to remove toxic substances from the body. For many, this includes the residue of all of the unhealthy foods that we spend so much time filling our bodies with. The advantage of using detox recipes is that you will not only bring your body to a healthier level, but it will also assist with weight loss.
Detox recipes will include a variety of ingredients, depending on what part of your body you want to focus on for cleansing, and what your personal tastes and preferences are. The key is to detoxify your body with healing types of foods that will not only cleanse your body from within, but will also increase your energy, vitality and overall good health.
Recipe for a Lemon Detox Diet
One of the easiest detox recipes to make at home is for a lemon drink that can be used in place of solid foods for up to a week or two. You can also opt to simply substitute out a meal or two each day with the lemon beverage if you prefer. The drink is made by adding two tablespoons of Madal Bal Natural Tree Syrup and two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to a glass, then filling with water. You can also put in a pinch of cayenne pepper or ginger for taste and to help your metabolism function more effectively. This drink can be used in place of solid food whenever the hunger pangs strike.
Detox Recipes with Fresh Fruits
Fresh fruit such as apples and strawberries can be used to make delightfully satisfying detox dishes. You can even use strawberries, silken tofu, orange peel and honey to make a strawberry dessert. Another detox diet calls for three days of eating only apples and applesauce, and drinking apple juice and cider. Fruit is a wonderful choice for cleansing the body and bringing energy and health into your life.
Before trying any new detox recipe, you should spend at least seven days prior eating a light nutritional fare that will cleanse your colon and prepare your body for the more vigorous detox recipes. That means avoiding junk foods and sticking with the healthy stuff for a full week! Good detox recipes should include foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, unsalted nuts and seeds, extra-virgin olive oil and herbal teas.
If you are looking for a way to cleanse your body and bring it to a healthier level, why not try a detox recipe? You might be pleasantly surprised at how good you feel when you give your internal systems a little extra TLC.
