Home Detox Programs Offer Better Health
By Linda Rogers
Home detox programs can reap many benefits for the user. By cleansing your body of the toxins and wastes that can accumulate you can increase your energy level and your overall good health. A home detox can clean your colon, enhance circulation and protect your liver. You can also contribute effectively to a weight loss program, and you can accomplish all of this in the privacy of your own home, with a few ingredients on hand to create a detox diet that you can live with.
Benefits of a Home Detox Program
If you are planning to follow a home detox program for weight loss benefits as well as good health, it is generally recommended that you stick with the program for at least two weeks or more. At the end of the first two weeks, many people feel such an improvement in their overall health and energy level that they are eager to continue. These improvements can include clearer skin, a more efficient digestive system and improved concentration.
Foods to Include in your Home Detox Diet
There is a good variety of food that can be included in this program. First and foremost, you want to be certain to include fresh fruits and vegetables, especially things like broccoli, cauliflower and onions. If you need something to splash onto your fresh produce for a little flavor, try extra-virgin olive oil. Products made with brown rice or buckwheat are also good items to include.
Nuts and seeds, especially the unsalted varieties, can also be enjoyed. Legumes are also a great addition, and will provide bulk and fiber into your diet. Beverages for your home detox diet can include herbal teas, water, fruit and vegetable juices and rice milk.
Foods to Avoid
It stands to reason that processed foods and foods that are high in fat and sugar are big “no-no's” in the home detox diet. It is also a good idea to avoid wheat products and dairy products that are high in fat. Caffeine should also be omitted from the program – if you are a coffee drinker, try substituting green tea for your morning cup.
A home detox program can lead to better health, higher energy levels and weight loss. With a little care and attention to what foods and products go into your body, you can ensure that your body will be able to function at its most efficient level.
