Diabetes symptom type 2 tends to develop more slowly than that of diabetes symptom type 1. Those with Type 2 diabetes may very well not experience any symptoms until the conditioned has developed into diabetic complications.

Common Diabetes Symptom Type 2

There are several common symptoms for Type 2 diabetes including feeling tired or ill, unusual thirst, frequent urination, weight loss, blurred vision, frequent infections and slow-healing wounds.

While many will find out that they have diabetes after just experiencing one or two diabetes symptom type 2, there are others who will not discover that they have diabetes until the complications start. Complications for Type 2 diabetes include blurry vision and heart trouble.

It is estimated that at least five million people living in the United States already have Type 2 diabetes but they haven't yet recognized the symptoms. The reason is that the symptoms of Type 2 diabetes are extremely mild and can be mistaken for other conditions. You can find out if you are pre-diabetes or already diabetic by have a blood glucose test done to check your blood sugar levels.

If Type 2 diabetes remains unchecked then diabetes symptom type 2 can eventually lead to more severe complications. These complications can effects the eyes, blood vessels, feet, nerves, kidneys, teeth, skin and heart. However, these complications can be kept to a minimum if the blood glucose, blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol are kept within their normal ranges.

In some cases, there are individuals who will have an insulin resistance before they start having symptoms of Type 2 diabetes. This is when the body fails to respond to the insulin by reducing the amount of blood glucose. To keep up with the excess glucose the pancreas will respond by increasing the output of insulin. Type 2 diabetes will result in time if the pancreas continues to not produce enough insulin.

Common Diabetes Symptom Type 1

Type 1 diabetes will typically have symptoms that develop rapidly over a very short period. These symptoms often include increased thirst and urination, constant hunger, weight loss and blurred vision. In the case of young children with Type 1 diabetes, they may feel very tired all the time.

Type 1 diabetes can result in a life-threatening coma called diabetic ketoacidosis if it is not diagnosed early and treatment with insulin started. Occasionally children with Type 1 diabetes may be misdiagnosed as gastroenteritis since some will have continued vomiting with diabetes. However, the biggest dividing factor is that gastroenteritis has decreased urination and diabetes has increased urination.
