Diabetes is a disease where the body is unable to either produce insulin, which is a hormone that the body requires in order to convert daily food intake and sugar into energy so we can go about doing our daily activities.

The Types Of Diabetes

There are two main types of diabetes that occur most commonly and they are Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes however, there is also gestational diabetes, which occurs in a much lesser ratio. Type 1 diabetes is most commonly found in children and this is defined when the body is unable to produce the insulin hormone at all. Type 2 diabetes is the most common found in people of all ages and it is manifests by the body not being able to use the available insulin in order to convert the sugars into energy.

Gestational diabetes usually occurs in pregnant women and it usually manifests by the body not being able to use the insulin produced by the body leading to hyperglycemia.

The Cause And Symptoms Of Diabetes

The precise cause of diabetes is still unknown; diet and weight are usually factors that can help control it but not necessarily the cause of it. Diabetes is not curable and therefore a condition with which one has to live with however, you can control diabetes with the right treatment, drug and diet.

The common diabetes symptoms are: frequent urination, being constantly thirsty, experiencing constant hunger, weight loss, moods changes such as irritability, fatigue and sometimes blurry vision.

Diabetes symptoms may not occur all at once and therefore it is sometimes hard to recognize especially because some of the diabetes symptoms the ones you may suffer after a long day at work. It is important to pay attention if the diabetes symptoms persist and immediately contact a doctor, as diabetes is a life threatening diseases, which can accelerate at any given time if not kept under strict control.

Leaving With Diabetes

You can live a healthy, happy and long life with diabetes because today there are drugs and ways in which you can recognize diabetes symptoms, check your blood sugar daily, control your diet and exercise in order to keep your diabetes under control at all times.

While it is not easy to live with diabetes, it is not impossible and with the help of family and friends you will be able to enjoy almost anything as far as food and activity is concerned therefore you too can have a full life by being in control of your diabetes.
