Taking A Look At The Different Types Of Labradors

Once a person has decided to get a Labrador, he/she then has to determine what type of Labrador to get. Of course, this is not the easiest task because one has three primary colors to choose from along with an array of different shades. Other than determining what color to get, one has to decide between an English Lab and an American Lab. Taking the time to decide between these details will be an important step to ensuring the happiness of the owner which will then make the Labrador just as pleased.
Different Colors Of A Labrador
As mentioned before, there are three main colors that a Labrador comes in: black, brown, and yellow. Of course, there are different hues stemming from these colors such as charcoal, silver, and fox red. There are not intelligence differences between these different colored Labs but it obviously affects the appearance of the dog. This may be an important thing to consider for some people, so some people should take the time to determine the type of Labrador color they want.
Regional Types Of Labradors
Other than figuring out what color to get, one must decide if an English Lab or an American Lab is right for him/her. With these types of Labradors, the physical appearance of the dog is affected and not just the color of the coat. The English Labrador is heavier and thicker than the American. Let’s say that it fills out its frame better than an American Lab. On the other hand, the American Lab is taller and obviously longer-limbed than the English Lab. These will be important characteristics to consider when deciding what role the Lab will play in everyday life with the owner.
It is obviously important to take the time to look over the different types of Labradors available to people today. Not only will it make the owner happy being able to choose what kind of color the dog will be, but the owner will be pleased to know he/she can determine the body type of the dog as well. For hunters and people interested in entering the dog in competitions this will be a big deal. One must always make sure that he/she does not spend too much money on a Labrador, no matter what kind it is. There will be another one available and the potential owner should always keep his/her options open.
