Send Out Easter Cards This Lenten Season
By Audrey Sneddon
This Lenten season, one of the best ways of letting people know that you wish them good luck and prosperity is by making your own Easter cards and giving them out to special friends and family members.
The great thing about making your own Easter cards is that you can personalize each card and give it to people who you know can appreciate what you have done. An Easter card can include an inspiring verse or story from the Bible, poems, Easter recipes, a personal note or just a simple greeting to spread cheer and warmth this Easter season.
Easter cards can be inspirational, humorous, religious, serious, or any other themes you wish to express. Since there is no standard format in making Easter cards, it is up to your creativity and writing skills to express how you feel.
If you're worried that your card can be a mess because you have no skills in drawing or painting, you'll be pleased to know that hundreds of printable designs for Easter can be obtained from numerous online resources. While some provide simple designs for the card, others include the words and even matching envelopes to produce a commercial-like Easter card.
Do-It-Yourself Easter Cards
In creating unique cards for Easter, you will need construction papers of your chosen color, envelope in any color, scissors, a glue stick, colored markers or crayons and the printable design you have found and chosen from various Easter websites.
After you have printed the design on your construction paper, you can cut the paper into any shape you like. Make sure that there is still space for your message. Although you can also print out the poem, message or note onto the paper, hand writing the content can make your card more personal.
Once you have shaped the construction paper, you can add pop-up papers to give texture to the card, place decorations by using colored markers or keep the card simply by leaving the design as is. However, the most important thing to consider in making your own Easter cards is to ensure that the card will fit the envelope perfectly. If you don't want to use envelopes, you can easily add ribbons or other means of enclosure to keep the message private.
Making Easter cards is an easy and fun way of personalizing the cards that you will give out. Share your card-making experience with your children, teach them different ways of folding the paper or allow them to express their creativity with their own set of cards.
