Bass fishing has a fascinating and ancient history. It started towards the end of the 18th century and continues to adapt, change and grow to this day.

• The William J. Jamison Co introduced the Shannon Twin Spinner in 1915. Although many consider it overly ornamented it was continually improved leading to today's popular spinner baits.
• In 1932, the creation of Tennessee Valley Authority instituted by President Franklin D. Roosevelt who encouraged the creation and building of numerous dams. These dams later proved most useful to those culturing different varieties of bass fishes.

Newly created r eels of different types, offered functions such as hauling and hoisting.
The bass fishing industry contributes around $50 to $70 Billion to the US economy each year and this figure continues to grow. Statistics continually show that the sport is increasing in popularity with growing audiences and with more and more people are getting interested in it compared to tennis and golf.
