You Can't Go Fishing Without Fishing Tackle!
By Angus MacLeod

You are thinking about different hobbies to get into that could help you ease some stress. Fishing is a great hobby for that, because it is quiet, and a way to really just enjoy nature. If you are thinking about going fishing for the first time, you will need fishing tackle.

About Fishing Tackle

No doubt you have watch movies or seen television shows that mention a character's fishing tackle box. Fishing tackle is often thought of as being just one thing, but actually it is a variety of different things you need to properly go fishing.

In a fishing tackle box, the first thing that you should have are different kinds of fishing hooks. These are going to be attached to fishing line, and bait is going to be placed on the hook. When the fish goes to bit the bait, it bites the hook too, and that is how fishes are caught. However, be aware that fishes are pretty smart, and many will bite around the hook if the bait is not put on properly!

The second thing that a fishing tackle box should have is spools of fishing line. The fishing line that you choose will depend on the kind of fishing rod that you have, as well as the kind of fish that you hope to catch. For example, larger fish will need a thicker fishing line as opposed to smaller fish.

The next thing that you will need in your fishing tackle box is a pair of scissors. In order to properly cut the fishing line so that it attaches to the fishing rod (if the rod needs a replacement spool of fishing line) you will need to cut the line with the scissors.

Another thing that you will need in your fishing tackle box is a knife that will clean and scale the fish right there, so you can put it in a cooler and take it home fresh. This is not as necessary for those that only want to catch the fish and then release it back into the water.

For more information on the things that you will need in your fishing tackle box, ask family or friends that are avid fishers. Or, you can ask for advice at your local department store or sporting goods store. After, all, you can't go fishing without fishing tackle!

Interesting Fish Facts & Fishing Tips
A fish uses it's scales as a store for essential minerals such as calcium. When the fish is unable to obtain these from it's diet these minerals can be absorbed back into the body.
