Golf Lessons Teach The Basics To The Beginners
By Angus MacLeod
Golf lessons start with the basics for people who have no experience with the sport. Golf lessons for beginners teach the protocols that are so important in golfing. A good instructor will make sure that everyone taking lessons will know how to behave toward other golfers at the course. Once they get onto the course, golfers should know who gets to hit the ball first. Golf lessons will also provide some information on driving a golf cart on the course. New golfers need to know if they can take a second shot without counting the first. They also need to know how to keep score on the course. Lessons should include an explanation of the procedures when a ball goes into a lake or other hazards on the course.
Once the rules are explained, the new golfers need to learn about the different kinds of shots in their golf lessons. The first kind of shot is usually a long shot, and the golfers are going to use a driver for these shots. The drivers are often difficult to handle at first so the lessons must include information on the driving the ball down the fairway as far as possible on that first shot. The drivers might be used for the second shot down the fairway, and the golf lessons should help the learner decide whether to choose a driver for their second shot.
Golf Lessons Continue Adding Skills
Golf lessons need to include information on the shots that one may have to make in the quest to get that little white ball into the hole. After driving that first shot, many things could happen. The golfer could have their ball in the lake, a sand trap or a tall tree. Golf lessons need to help the beginner decide what to do in these difficult situations. There are different clubs for different situations, and the lessons should help the beginner decide how to deal with difficulties. The golf lessons also need to help them should they get their ball to the green on the first shot.
The golf lessons should help a beginner with their putting skills. Once golfers get on the green, they may think they are home free, but getting that ball into the hole is not so easy. The green may appear smooth at first, but not all of the greens are smooth. Golf lessons should include using the club called a putter on the greens. Golfers need special skills to use a putter, and a good instructor will help beginner learn these skills.
