Do-It-Yourself Designer Fashions: You Can Make Your Own Longchamp Handbag
By Francis Sinclair
Handmade handbags have the stigma of over-zealous at-home crafters who patch together monstrosities with rhinestones and hot glue; however, if you want a designer's input in the homemade bag, you can custom-design your own Longchamp handbag, and add details and colors that suit your own taste and personality. If you have a Longchamp junkie, getting a bag custom-designed for her is a great way to give a personal gift, which you can say is homemade, without it really being homemade. The custom Longchamp handbag, called Le Pliage, can be ordered online and would be a great way to show that special-someone you care. After choosing the country of delivery, you are given a choice of different shapes and types of bags. There six different types of bags to chose from – the smallest which is the “purse” and the largest being the aptly named “large purse.” You can also choose a small clutch bag, as well. After choosing a shape, you might also be asked to choose a length for the strap – whether you want it to be slung on the shoulders, or carried.
How Do I Make My Own Le Pliage Longchamp Handbag?
Once a shape is chosen, you are then instructed to choose a main color and the stripe color. This is the fun part because here you can really decide what your Longchamp handbag will look like. You also can choose for the metal accessories between golden, nickel and bronze. You are then asked if you would like to emboss your Longchamp handbag, embroider or have an accompanying message. The larger bags allow for monogramming and embroidery, while the smaller choices, such as the “clutch” will not allow for embossing and/or writing of any kind. When choosing the writing, you will also have to choose the type of font: block letters (similar to those seen on a fraternity sweater), standard type and fancy italic.
Finally, you can choose to have your gift wrapped in the signature Longchamp wrapping paper. The prices vary, depending on how much of the extras you decide to use, including the embroidery, embossing and gift-wrap. Your bag will run for at least $150, but can be more expensive, depending on the bag-type. Getting a Longchamp handbag is a great gift idea for someone who wants to get something high-end for his/her loved one, but still wants to get something personal and a bag with the personal touch.
