By M. A. Fulmar
Headaches can be caused by many different things, from noise to light and from different medical conditions to unbalanced diet or dehydration. Whatever your cause of headaches, every one of us has had a headache at one time or the other and the symptoms can be paralyzing at times.
The Symptoms Of Headache
There are many types of headaches and depending on the type you have these are the symptoms you will encounter: throbbing temples, sensitivity to light and noise, pain while moving your eyes from side to side, pain when touching your hair and most common of all nausea.
Headache and nausea go hand in hand as the headache turns into a migraine and your entire body begins to suffer from it. The first place that it will affect will be your appetite and stomach nerves leading to nausea.
Treating Headache And Nausea
If you have a regular headaches and nausea as a side effect, some over-the-counter headache relief medicines will be able to help you relieve your symptoms. Take these medications with plenty of water to hydrate yourself in the process as often dehydration is the main cause of headache in the first place.
However, if your headache and nausea symptoms are due to another existing medical condition, you may have to consult your doctor before seeking a treatment as it may interfere with your present medication and health condition.
Natural Remedies
Some natural remedies such as homeopathy or acupuncture may be the answer for your headache and nausea especially if you have a serious disease that you are treating with stronger medications and cannot afford to take any other medication for your headache and nausea symptoms.
Many natural remedies do not have any side effects; however, it is recommended you consult your doctor before you start any treatment in order to ensure that you are not interfering with any existing medication you are presently taking. Natural remedies may also take longer to show results, but may also be the safest way to approach constant headaches that have nausea as side effects.
Helpful Tip
Headache medications are available without prescription in any drug store; however, there are many side effects from them such as damaging your stomach lining and diarrhea. Therefore, it is important you don't overdose or self-medicate, especially if you are presently taking several other drugs for existing health problems.
Stress is one of the main causes of headaches, and we are faced with different types of stress everyday. Finding the source of your headache will help you greatly to deal with it may be even without medication.
