An Insurance Lead: The Broker for Insurance
By Myles Johnstone
Shopping around for insurance can be a frustrating thing, especially if you have had bad luck in the past with auto, home or any other insurance in which more than one claim had to be made. You may not know what you are going to do. Instead of having to look hard yourself for a deal, have an agent get you what you want and you will be an insurance lead. If you are still not sure what an insurance lead is, here is some background on what it is and what an insurance broker can do for you. An insurance lead is basically you, the consumer. Insurance agents, who are independent brokers for different insurance companies are looking for insurance shoppers to sell auto, home, or life insurance to. Most of agents work online to find their insurance lead, and can choose how many they want, in what location of the country, and how many dependants they want to work on a policy for. Most often, an insurance lead is given to an agent, and they independently work on getting a policy set up for that particular customer.
How It Helps
Because insurance agents or brokers work independently through a particular company, then they can offer a lower rate or premium then if you were to go through a normal insurance company. This may be needed if, for instance, you are looking for auto insurance and your current policy will not accept you anymore because you've had a few too many accidents. If you are “kicked off” of their policy, they may recommend a broker to provide a policy that will enable you to be insured while building up your driving record again. A broker, most times will not discriminate against you if your driving record is bad.
As an insurance lead, you are not just a number, but someone that the broker will actually work with to find a policy that will fit your needs. Insurance brokers normally do not profit as much as the company they are working for, so you can count on quality, helpful service, in a smaller, less impersonal setting. With the information age being mostly via the Internet, surfing the Web for independent insurance brokers is not as hard as it used to be. As an insurance lead, you are allowing an agent to work hard for your policy, for a lower price.
