Deciding to put in a pool is a great way to spend time as a family and to enjoy your yard. However, you have to remember that just because you put a pool in does not mean you are done with landscaping. When you finish with pool landscaping, you are going to be able to create an environment where your family can truly enjoy themselves that looks nice to everyone. You will be the talk of the block, if you have good pool landscaping to go along with your pool addition.

Things To Remember

The most important aspect of pool landscaping is going to be the fence that surrounds it. No matter what kind of pool you have, or what kind of family you are dealing with that lives in your home, you must have a fence that surrounds your pool. The fence can be a fence that surrounds your entire yard, which is fine, but it must at least surround the pool. The fence must have a gate that can be closed and latched and locked when you don't want people in the pool. A fence is a very important part of pool landscaping because not only does it provide privacy to those that are using the pool, it provides safety for everyone. Even if your children know how to swim, you don't know that your neighbor's children do, and even if you don't' invite them over, there is no saying that they won't come over on their own, or worse, will come over when you are not home and try to swim. Therefore, having a fence is a very important part of pool landscaping.

Another important part of pool landscaping is providing a place outside the pool that can be used as a pool deck. You should have an area where you can set up chairs so that you can relax around the pool. You should also have an area that is concrete, so that people won't get grass into the pool, and so that you have a place to put your belongings while you are swimming.

Another part of pool landscaping is making sure that you have the proper area to have the pool. If there are overhanging trees, you will find that your pool is much harder to clean, so a good part of pool landscaping is trimming those trees so they don't stand over the pool and drop leaves into it.
