Prominent Washington Lawyers Work On Prestigious Cases

Washington lawyers are a unique group of people because they are situated in the capital of the most important country in the world. The rest of the world shares a fascination about this important capital which is the location of the federal government. Many Washington lawyers are involved in cases that have something to do with the work of this federal government. Some of these lawyers work on cases like their peers in the rest of the country. They work on divorces, probate and real estate just as they would if they were in any other state. The vast majority are directly or indirectly involved in the affairs of the government.

Washington lawyers include those that represent clients that have business before the United States Supreme Court. Some of these cases have the intense scrutiny of the rest of the country. These lawyers that represent clients in front of the Supreme Court work on cases that affect the laws in the rest of the land. Some of these cases have a ripple effect on the laws of the land as each is decided by the Supreme Court justices. Other Washington lawyers serve as clerks to these justices, and still others carry out research for both sides of a Supreme Court case.

Washington Lawyers Serve All Branches of the Government

The Supreme Court is the center of the legal system in the capital of the nation, but there are two other branches of the government situated in the capital. Washington lawyers are involved in both the legislative and the executive branch of the government. The Congress has many lawyers who serve as elected members. There are many of these lawyers who work for the Congress in several different ways. The representatives in Congress present the outlines of the laws they want to see passed by the Congress. Washington lawyers play important roles in writing out these laws so they work.

The Presidency or the executive branch of the government also employs many Washington lawyers. Many Washington lawyers work directly for the President at the White House. These lawyers advise the President on the work that he or she does on a daily basis. Others do work related to the office of the President. The Washington lawyers working for this branch of the government perform the work necessary to the work of the Department of Justice. The work that these lawyers do may also have an impact on many other laws throughout the country.
