Getting Ready For Mothers Day
By Wendy Simons

Getting ready for Mothers Day always seems to happen at the last minute. People are so busy that about Wednesday it hits people and everyone is trying to find something. It's even worse for those people who don't live near mom and they have to have something shipped. Every year people say that next year they will be ready for Mothers Day but it just never happens like that. Something else that can happen is forgetting to call mom on Mothers Day. If someone ever does this they will be told that its okay, but everyone knows better. Mothers Day is always a good day because most people have great memories of the things that mom did in their lives. It's always mom that would kiss our hurts and it was always mom that was there to listen when a child had a bad day. Even grown men on football fields say hi mom when the camera is on them. Mom would always make kids look good before a dance and sometimes mom would not tell dad when something happened.

People always get something nice for mom like flowers and a card, or a homemade card and a kiss. It's easy to talk with mom when people have grown up and moved away. Even when children move away, mom calls and tries to not sound like she worries about the kids.

After Mothers Day

Sadly, many grown kids kind of forget about mom after Mothers Day. This is sad because most moms think about their kid's everyday. Mothers will not last forever and there will come a day when mom is seen at the cemetery. Try to take time out of each week and call mom or send her a letter telling her how much she means to one. She may cry when she reads it but they will be tears of joy. Mothers Day is the one official day to tell mom how much she means but don't stop doing that after that day. There are many times that people can take some time to just call and say “I Love You.” And when people can take time to do it, take a trip home to see mom. Don't plan it with other things in mind; just plan it with mom in mind. A surprise trip home will make peoples mothers face shine. Moms have done so much for their children, and the children should pay her back with love and attention.
