Mothers Day Songs – Family Fun
By Wendy Simons

This year give your mom something different for her special day. Why not get the family together and perform a concert for mom. No, I don't mean a literal concert, just some good clean family fun. Everybody sings carols at Christmas so why not serenade mom this year with some special Mother's Day songs. There are a number of songs out there that are simple and easy to sing. Most of them are sung to the tune of other songs you and your family already know. If you have somebody to play music that is great, but if you don't, just singing will do.

I Love My Mommy sung to the tune of Up on the Housetop tells about how much mommy is loved and how sweet her hugs and kisses are. I Love Mommy is sung to the tune of Frere Jacques, Mother is done to the tune of I've Been Working On The Railroad, I Love Mom is sung to the tune of Jingle Bells, and Mother My Darling is sung to the tune of Rock A Bye Baby. All of these songs have simple verses that are fun and easy for the kids to remember. Have the kids do their special hand signals like blowing mom a kiss or crossing their heart with love for mom.

Choosing the Gift of Song

If the concert idea is not your thing you might want to consider a CD which contains songs of love especially for mom. There are many available Mother's Day songs on the internet or you could visit the local music store. These CDs have been gaining popularity over the past years as being one of mom's greatest gifts. Some of the titles you can expect to find are Mother's Day Song, Drive My Mommy Crazy, Moms, Here Come Our Mothers, Dear Mom, Mother's Day, and Thank You Mom.

The web also offers Mother's Day songs you can download for free. The song Dear Mom is one of the most beautiful Mother's Day songs I have ever heard. If you play that for your mom you better have a box of tissues close by because it tugs at the heart strings. You can also download the lyrics and print them out on pretty paper for mom to keep.
No matter what you do for mom, the important thing is to show her you love her. This is the one day each year set aside to thank our moms for everything they have done for us through the years. They deserve our devotion.
