Additionally, many communities have found they can make money by disposing of no longer needed items at an online property auction, some of which are operated by a third-party vendor while others are operated by the community itself. When police dpartments or other community departments have merchandise they need to get rid of, they would typically hold an auction somewhere with the community.

With the growing interest in the online property auction venues, holding online auctions to dispose of property is a growing trend. Especially with auctions for police property, there is no minimum bid as anything the item brings in at auction will be a profit for the department. These could be items ranging from merchandise seized as evidence and never claimed by the victim or confiscated as illegal gains from illegal activities.

Additionally, most potential buyers are not going to commit to making such a purchase sight unseen.

There are too many variables involved to use an online property auction for real estate to make it worth more than inexpensive advertising with perhaps the winning bidder placing a bid for a down payment if the final deal can be worked out in the state where the property is located.

However, being able to purchase a plethora of merchandise, both new and used, at auction is a game to many people and regardless of the need for the items or the type and quantity of the items, the actual winning of the bid is the most important aspect of an online property auction to many bidders.
