Choosing to consume organic food is making a choice to provide you and your family with the healthiest nutrional options available. In review of the conventional practices in the farming industry, it takes only a few examples of organic farming practices to highlight the truest advantages to organic food; improved health, preserved natural resources and wildlife.

In choosing to support organic dairy products, the consumer eliminates the fear of ingesting these chemicals as well as supporting the farmers who practice organic farming.

Agricultural Arguments

Conventional agricultural farming is successful largely due to the chemicals, pesticides, bio-engineering and other such scientific projects that prove to produce foods for our consumption but at the cost of our natural resources, waterways, animal and plant life and the risk of our own health. The advantage of organic agriculture is that it is ideal for people, animals and the environment. Not only does it provide 95% chemical free food products for people, animals and plant life but the production of organic agriculture is earth friendly as well. Farmers and food handlers are given rigorous guidelines and standards that must be followed. A certified inspector verifies that the standards are being upheld; failure to do so results in a $10,000 fine for each violation. An advantage of organic food is the knowledge that a generation raised without chemically altered fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry and other items many not have to live in fear of cancer, and other life threatening diseases.

The advantage of organic foods can be discussed to great lengths. We live in a world of great scientific and technological discoveries. However these new scientific technologies that are being utilized in the production of food is still in the experimental stages and no one can guarantee what the long-term effects will be on our society. The proof that organic farming practices are safe and continue to preserve our natural resources are reason enough to support the organic farmers. When organic farming practices are supported everyone wins. When you buy organic, you are not only supporting the organic farmers everywhere, but also reinforcing the concept that “going green” is the chosen path of our future.
