A Tight Knit Family, The Organic Food Industry
By Rose Hannigan

Organic farmers focus their efforts on insuring that the renewable resources we enjoy today survive for future generations. Instead of thinking of the great American dollar, they focus on the important things in life such as renewable resources, saving the animal and plant life that share this planet with us and providing healthy food for our children to eat. In doing so, they forgo the use of conventional pesticides, bio-engineering techniques, petroleum based fertilizers, growth hormones as well as many other methods of environmentally damaging practices that once (and sadly still are) common practice in the agricultural world. The farmers who are working together in the organic food industry are producing organic fruits, vegetables, organic beef, poultry, eggs and dairy products are committed to healthy food for our families' and healthy practices for our agricultural program.

The Value Of A Buck

The organic food industry focuses on the results of their actions rather than the payoffs of cheating the system and making things move faster instead of better. Conventional farming practices use chemicals, scientific manipulations, antibiotics and other environmentally damaging practices all in the faith of earning a faster dollar even though it is at the expense of our future. The organic food industry views its overall wealth in a clean environment, healthy plant and animal life and a chemical free life for our children.

The organic food industry consists of a very strong community focused group of farmers, business people and food handlers working together toward a common goal. They share a common concern for the condition of the world we live in and are actively choosing to make it a better place. They share a common belief that it is only through respect and appreciation for the earth can we profit from the growth of its harvest. They do not see the manipulation of the soil, its inhabitants as productive to a healthy planet. They use their voices, actions and beliefs to build upon and draw others into their circle.

Be Good To Mother Earth

The focus of the organic food industry is earth friendly practices that support the natural biological systems of the earth. Their farming methods actually improve the soil in which they produce their crops and their animals graze upon. It is through their hard work, dedication and beliefs that we might actually improve the environment in which we all live.
