Patio Furniture Parts Cheaper The New Set
By Jim Carpenter

Depending on how much you paid for your outdoor furniture, repairing it may be a consideration as opposed to replacing it when something breaks. You can buy many of the patio furniture parts from the manufacturers and, failing that, from one of many furniture repair shops.

Whether your furniture has straps, web or sling seats, they can all be replaced. The majority of wood patio sets can be repaired by someone with carpentry experience if you just need to replace a board or two. If, however major repairs are needed, having it done professionally will insure the safety of anyone using it. There are many pre-cut patio furniture parts for wood sets as well.

Replacement patio furniture parts, such as straps are fairly easy to install. If the frame itself is damaged, it may be better to replace the entire chair, however, if heavy rust is present a professional outdoor furniture repair shop can usually sand blast the piece and repaint it to bring it back to life. Again, that decision will be based on the age and price of the set.

Kits Make Furniture Repair Easier

You can also purchase a furniture repair kit in addition to the patio furniture parts that gives you everything to need to repair your furniture the right way. Whether you buy pre-cut straps and webbing or buy it by the roll and cut it yourself, the tools will come in handy to help make the job look as though it was done by a professional.

You do have to be careful when replacing some patio furniture parts, especially if they can be detrimental to the safety of the furniture. For example, metal guides or hangers used on a swing must be as strong as the original to hold the weight it is designed to hold. Buying cheap patio furniture parts could leave you with inferior parts and a dangerous piece of furniture. You should always by from the original manufacturer or an authorized parts supplier.

For those with little or no ability with tools, taking your furniture to a professional shop may still be cheaper than replacing the set. Hiring someone to replace the patio furniture parts that have gone bad also takes the responsibility of getting it done on time for the spring from you. This can free up your time with which you can do other things, like get the pool ready for the season.
