Fun and Simple Parenting Trivia
By Wendy Simons
All parents have some pearls of wisdom that they accumulate during their long parenting days. There are so many amazing things that you can find out through sharing such words of advice. Usually you will find such tips and parenting trivia in parenting forums and magazines. Some of the parenting trivia will be hilariously funny while some of it would be deep and touching.
The Pain and Pleasure in Parenting
1. if you want something to cook fast (and cheap) – always keep rice in the house. It can be cooked in a moment and if you add a little seasoning, it can make a very filling dish for those little hungry mouths.
2. Always keep milk in the house – you can use it for drinking, cooking and making cakes. Milk is a great addition to anything – cereals, coffee, rice etc
3. You want to ensure that you kids eat the lunch that you pack for them for school? Always add a little seasoning to the sandwich that you make for them – it makes the sandwich taste out of this world.
4. Children love it when you show affection – ensure you have the time to genuinely hug them at least one every day.
5. Listen to them – this is not exactly parenting trivia – rather very important bonding advice. They need to know they matter to you and that you take them seriously. Listen to them when they talk and give them all your attention.
6. Vitamins are very important for children. Ensure that they develop a habit of having their vitamins every day. This is a habit that will help them when they are adults and too busy to eat well.
7. Keep ice trays filled at home. You can make instant smoothies and ice candies, which always thrill the kids.
8. Family rituals – have at least one meal together every day. Have one day a week consecrated to the family. Such little rituals would show the children that family is important and they will carry this belief to their own families.
9. Take lots of pictures of your children – time flies and all of a sudden you will see them ready to leave your home. Have birthdays celebrated and recorded with videos or photographs – you will have the memories when your children have become adults
10. Teach them the value of money – let them earn by doing specific chores around the house, over and above their duties. This way they can plan their allowance and also value money.
Lastly, make your own list of parenting trivia and share it with other parents. Its fun and it is great information too.
