Angel Perfume – For Anyone that Enjoys Food
By Mary Henderson

It may seem strange that a perfume be described wit its connotations with food. Yet, the Angel perfume by Thierry Mugler is one such scent that blends many comforting warm food scents like coffee, caramel and mint.

For Men

Launched by the design house of Thierry Mugler in 1996, the perfume, Angel is classified under flowery fragrances perhaps because there is no category for ‘food-like' fragrances. This masculine scent possesses a blend of: mint, coffee, caramel, chocolate and is recommended for casual wear. Angel shower foam goes well with Angel cologne adding richness when paired together. Angel for men is packaged in a masculine silver bottle and has Thierry Mugler's signature star on the front. The bottle is enclosed in a blue and black box. A 3.4 oz bottle sells for approximately $90.

For Women

Angel Perfume for Women however was introduces in 1992. This too is categorized as a flowery feminine scent with a blend of vanilla, sandalwood, and patchouli, with notes of fresh citrus, melons and plums. It is recommended for daytime wear and is also available in a refillable bottle where experts can professionally refill the bottle by taking the cap off. However, this has its advantages and disadvantages - the plus side is that you can get your favorite scent refilled at a discount. However, the disadvantage is that counterfeits could fill the bottle with fake fragrances and sell it off as the original. A 1.7 oz bottle costs around $90. The Angel perfume is also available in a cream and lotion, the latter retails for $50 for a 7 oz. bottle

Angel Innocence perfume was introduced in 1998 and contains notes of bergamot, mandarin and passion fruit. It is accented with honey, almonds and amber making this variation of Angel perfume perfect for casual use. A 2.6 oz bottle of the legendary star shape retails for around $60

Most of the people that tend to like the Angel perfume are those that enjoy heavy scents. Others feel it is too easily distinguishable and doesn't have the elusiveness about it. If people are familiar with its scent, they will easily tell what you are wearing or go rush out and buy it too. It is a slightly intoxicating, heady perfume which goes well with Mugler's clothes, not with floral, summer dresses but with something more formal and classy. Some Angel perfume wearers love the fragrance but admit that it is too bold to wear in public. They prefer it during intimate times and wearing it with loved ones in private.

It is not as readily available in stores as many other designer names, but it can easily be ordered online. The only catch is that you may not be able to try it on your wrist before purchase.
