Art Photography Shows Magnificent Images
By Andrew Kelly
Photography is a craft and an art. The photographer has to have a keen knowledge of cameras, lighting and film. The great photographers also have an artistic sense, and they capture images that have an emotional impact on the viewers. These photographers produce art photography that compares to the great images created as paintings with oils on canvas. The work that is considered to be art photography sells at high prices in quality galleries around the world. Some of the images that are considered art photography are well known images admired by many people.
Art photography includes individual images of stunning subjects and the prints of these photographs. There are museums around the world that exhibit art photography on a permanent basis, and there are sites that exhibit great art photography on a rotating basis. The art photography collection by Eugene Smith is kept on a permanent basis at the University of Arizona where enthusiasts come to view this magnificent work. Smith willed his art photography to this university, and the collection is an invaluable asset for this university. Other great photographers have made similar gifts to other institutions. Eugene Smith sacrificed much for his art during his lifetime, and this great artist died poor except for the valuable art photography now on display at this university.
Books of Art Photography Hold Magnificent and Diverse Images
There are several photographers who are famous for their art photography. These include Eugene Smith, Ansel Adams, Margaret Bourke-White and Richard Avedon. Although these photographers are great artists, their subjects differ greatly. Richard Avedon was a fashion photographer who showed beautiful people in exquisite clothes.
The photographs of the great artists are usually available in books and museums. These great artists have also provided commentary on their lives and their skills as photographers. The images from these great photographers always have an emotional impact on those that see their work. Eugene Smith was known for bringing attention to serious problems in various places.
