Open Your Eyes in a Photography Lab
By Andrew Kelly
A photography lab is a magical place where you can open the eyes of a guy in the back row or cover up a few wrinkles on the lady in the front row of a group photograph. An expert in a lab can put hair on a bald man and take the moustache off a woman. A great photographer can do tricks in a lab that can fool the public, annoy some customers and please others. The beautiful photographs in the glossy magazines are special examples of shots snapped by a talented photographer and printed by a person in a photography lab.
A photography lab has equipment that can make exquisite changes in a living room that looks bland or put a pumpkin pie on a table where there was none. A good photography lab has equipment to enlarge pictures to just the right size or reduce them to a perfect wallet size. If the client wants a few of each size, this can be done in a photography lab. A good lab has equipment that can make up for the mistakes of an amateur photographer. A bad photo can be improved by the people with skills in a good photography lab.
A Photography Lab Is Full of History, Memories and Treasures
The people who work in a photography lab see the hearts and minds of people as they do their job every day. They develop pictures of a baby only minutes old and the parents that are so excited to have this new member of the family. They see pictures of the grandmother and grandfather who cannot wait to spoil this child. The people in the lab see pictures of success and failure. The boys on the little league team celebrate as they win and then bring their pictures to save for posterity. In the background, the losers might show their tears and disappointment.
The people in a photography lab see the images that will one day be history. There is a picture somewhere of a young child who will one day be the President and this picture will be dragged from the archives for the press on Inauguration Day. There will be pictures of a science fair and one of the winners will one day win the Nobel Prize for science. A photography lab is a wonderful place where people bring their hopes, their dreams and their memories. The people in the lab can save and print these images that are also treasures.
