You Can Use Preschool Science to Create a Love for Knowledge in Your Child
By Rosemary Phillips

Why is education important? Frankly speaking, it is important because it will give you your identity and means to live comfortably. Hence, when parents guide their children, they want them to be perfect, to be the best, to rise above every other child in their hope that their lives will be shaped by their ability to study.

Are Only Those Who do Well in School Successful in Life?

The world is full of people who have only passed elementary school (and sometimes even that is not completed) and who rise to pinnacles of success. And there are, on the other hand, people who have had excellent academic careers who find themselves wasting their lives in a non-starter career, with no job satisfaction or adequate remuneration. This happens – rather, it is quite common in life. Hence, can you really say that academics only can determine the success of your child in life?

Academics have its own importance. However, what creates that verve in a person right from childhood, is the thirst for knowledge, for finding out answers, for solving problems. This is not always the same as academics, though it includes it. What makes one successful is the ability of seeing things in a new light everytime you look at it. This open mindedness comes only through an active interest in life and everything that goes on in it.

This is where preschool science projects can work wonders. Children are fascinated from an early age about what is going on in and around their environment. When you explain to them those things with the help of preschool science projects, you hook them into looking for simple answer in complex problems. You teach them to apply their knowledge in understanding and solving problems. Preschool science projects teach them to seek answers, and find them.

In other words, a preschool science project can be an excellent catalyst for children to become managers of their potential. Once their problem-solving attitude is set in their psyche, it is very difficult to keep these children down. As adults they will learn to do the best of whatever circumstance they find themselves in, because they will always look for solutions.

It does not matter here whether the child is brilliant in academics or not. What is important is the way they look at a problem, and the way they handle that problem. These preschool science projects can thus be one of the best vehicles to success.
