A Fairytale Prom β Wearing a Cinderella Prom Dress
By Francis Sinclair
Everyone wants to go to prom in style. Girls spend months saving money (or conning parents out of credit cards) so when the time comes, they will be able to purchase the perfect prom dress. Many girls and their friends talk about the newest and greatest trends, plotting their outfits to merge but not match.
Others are not satisfied with following the latest trends and much prefer to stand out and make a statement. One way to do this, and at the same time reenact the world's best-loved tale of romance, is to wear a Cinderella prom dress. Wearing a Cinderella prom dress is a surefire way to make prom memories that will last forever.
Carrying out the Cinderella Fairytale: Accessorizing a Cinderella Prom Dress
While a glass slipper would suit the situation perfectly, that isn't really an option, and so choosing a simple but elegant white satin dress shoe or sandal in a low heel compliments a Cinderella prom dress best. A girl should also consider comfort when choosing her shoe. Remember that just because a shoe looks gorgeous does not mean it is easy on the feet--and where would Cinderella be if she couldn't dance at the ball?
A girl wearing a Cinderella prom dress has two options when it comes to accessorizing. She can either go with white accessories, or she can pick one other color that compliments her shade of her dress. This color can be used for handbags, jewelry and other accessories to break up a solid color. Because the gown is likely to be a soft color, makeup should be lightly applied in neutral or light pink shades. Light eyes and a clear or pink lip gloss soften the features and create an angelic look. Avoid harsh, dramatic makeup which would shatter the fairy tale look and likely clash with the Cinderella prom dress as well.
While a girl's hair is only part of the whole look, it can make or break perfection. Long hair looks great piled on top of the head with some tendrils on the side. For those with shorter hair, a soft style with some jeweled hair pins looks very nice. A girl can finish her look with nails done in light pink.
Girls who choose to wear a Cinderella prom dress can live out a fairy tale fantasy and make their prom night one they will never forget.
