Choose an Orange Prom Dress for a Stunning Departure
By Francis Sinclair
Pictures from the prom usually contain happy faces and enthusiastic activity. The pictures also usually contain a familiar color scheme. The males at the event tend to choose tuxedoes from the local rental outlet that come with black or white jackets. Many designers stick to the tried and true colors that look good on many different people. The crowd of teenagers ends up wearing very similar colors.
The dresses are often in the pastel colors of bluebonnet blue, a perfect pink or a soft yellow. Black and white that blend in with the tuxedo jackets are also common colors. Rarely someone shows up in an orange prom dress, but when they do they are a stunning addition to the mix.
An Orange Prom Dress Will Make you Stand Out in the Crowd
An orange prom dress may be hard to find, but it may be worth the hunt as it will be an outstanding element in the normal mix of fashions at the event. Orange does not have to be a vibrant shade and careful searching for the perfect shade could be a worthwhile pursuit. A soft pastel orange will provide a departure from the usual blues, pinks and lavenders, but it will not be a drastic contrast to the others attending the event.
On the other hand, a vibrant, stunning orange will make you stand out in the crowd. Orange is an unusual color in any fashion setting and very unusual at a school prom. If you want to stand apart from the rest of the crowd, choose an orange prom dress.
Thoughtful Variations on an Orange Prom Dress
Orange can be a difficult color to wear but do not rule it out completely if you would like to be distinctive in the crowd just because it is not the color that goes best with your hair and skin color. Orange in the skirt combined with other colors in the bodice can keep a distinctive look to part of the dress while providing complementary colors closer to the face.
Combine colors with the orange in the dress that will look best with your eyes, hair and skin. Think about other variations that will allow use of the distinctive color without compromising the most complementary look. A band of white around the top of an orange prom dress will provide a buffer between your face and the rest of the dress.
A strapless orange prom dress will keep the color away from your eyes and hair if orange is not the best color next to these features. A teenager with an imaginative use of the color orange in her prom dress will be a stunning participant at this exciting event.
