Design on a Dime or Two - Getting a Prom Dress by Designer
By Francis Sinclair
Every girl wants to look perfect for prom, and perfection takes a lot of preplanning and a number of steps. Girls go to great lengths to have their hair, makeup, and nails done just right, and to find the perfect accessories. Then, of course, there's finding the prom dress.
It may take a bit of patience and searching to find the perfect dress, but when a girl finds the dress that is just right for her and no one else, she'll know it was worth the search. While countless places offer prom dresses that are beautiful and elegant, many girls feel the need to adorn themselves with a prom dress by designer.
The Pros of Having a Prom Dress by Designer
While having the latest, newest, most expensive and newsworthy prom dress isn't necessary, it certainly is fun to walk into the dance with the dress that will be talked about and remembered throughout the coming months. When money is no object, many girls turn to a prom dress by designer with credit card in hand and a smile on their face.
They look right past the price tags and search for the designer prom dress that will fit their frame and show off their features perfectly. It's not at all difficult to find a prom dress by a designer.
Some popular designers of prom dresses Vera Wang, Tiffany, Jovani, Serendipity, and Alisha Hill to name a few. Sometimes a prom dress by a designer may be an actual replica of an outfit that a celebrity wore to a notable event such as an award show or pageant. That alone can make a girl feel special.
Walking into the prom adorned with the latest prom dress by designer, may make a girl feel exceptional. Who knows? All that whisper and chatter might just be about her lovely dress. As long as money is no object, buying a prom dress by a designer may be a smart purchase.
The Cons of Having a Prom Dress by Designer
Not everyone can afford a prom dress by designer, and some people who can afford it simply don't feel the expense is justified. It's perfectly possible to have a grand prom experience wearing a retail dress or even a gently used dress. Unless you are wearing a truly striking outfit, most prom gowns tend to look similar. Besides, most girls are far too worried about their own appearance to worry inordinately about the dresses of others.
A prom dress by designer can cost into the thousands of dollars, and since the dress will probably only be used for one night, that cost seems steep indeed. Spending the equivalent to a mortgage payment on three hours of looking gorgeous may be too much for many people to justify.
