Rugs: Add Something Special To Any Room Or Office
By May Brindle

When you walk into a room, rarely do you notice the rugs in that room. Oh, you may be aware that they're there but you don't really focus on them. That's because, with the correct choice of rug, it will blend into the rest of the décor and it will become a piece in the background, something that you don't really notice but that would change the look of the room drastically if it weren't there. Choosing that correct one can make or break a room and so much thought should go into what style, color and size you want for your room or office.

Hiding Things

You may have never thought of it before, but rugs can also be used to hide unsightly marks on the carpet or hard wood of your home or office. If, for instance, your kids just spilled an entire glass full of grape juice right on your brand new carpet and no amount of high dollar cleaner will get it out, a nice rug will do nicely to hide that unsightly blemish the next time company comes over. It's amazing how much a blemish in your flooring can put you in a bad mood but how a well placed rug can boost you right back up again.

Runners

You can even use runner rugs to lead into other rooms. Runners are thin strips of rug that you can place, for instance, between the kitchen and the living room to act as sort of a walkway into that area. It looks great when done properly, with the right size, color and shape for example, and they don't cost as much as regular rugs, which is great for everyone.

Should Be Part Of Any Décor

Rugs should be part of any décor of any home. Make sure that when you're shopping for one that you keep in mind the color of your room, the color of any furniture you have as well as any paintings and extra things you have hanging on the wall. Your rug should compliment all of it so that it blends in and adds that little something special to your room that you're looking for. And nobody has to know that that well placed rug is hiding that grape juice stain that you spent forever trying to get up and now no longer has to be worried about.
