Digital Satellite TV System Offers Best Picture
By Tony Cunningham

When you are looking into buying and using a satellite television system, keep in mind the whole world is going digital and it probably will not be long before a digital satellite TV system will be a necessary part of your viewing pleasure. Currently, only people with a high definition television set worry about receiving digital signals but the day is rapidly approaching when all broadcasts will be in digital.

Currently most satellite receivers can convert the digital signal sent out by satellite into analog mode to be able to be viewed on most television sets. While analog is capable of being seen on a high definition television, the picture clarity is not as good. By starting out or upgrading to a digital satellite TV system you will be ready for the digital revolution when it does finally arrive.

There are advantages other than high definition sets to having a digital satellite TV system. One is the ability to make digital recordings of the programs you are watching. Most new digital satellite TV systems are equipped with a digital video recorder that records without the need for the cumbersome video tape recorders. Setting a program to record is also much easier as it usually takes a click of the remote, as much as two weeks ahead of time, to schedule a program to record.

Stop Action And Slow Motion Capabilities Also A Plus

With a digital satellite TV system if you are interrupted in the middle of your favorite show, and are not recording it, you can simply hit the pause button and the program will stop playing. It is like having a friend at the TV station, who can stop the broadcast until you are free to resume watching. When you are done, you simply hit the play button and the program will resume where you left off. When a commercial comes on that you do not want to watch you can fast forward through it until you catch up to the show being broadcast.

If you are watching a program and missed an action sequence, or even a snippet of conversation, you can stop the show, back it up and replay it to hear the conversation again and again, or play back the live action at a slower speed to answer the question of how something was done. This ia made possible by the digital recording capabilities of a digital satellite TV system.
