Finding the Right Satellite TV Services
By Tony Cunningham

Almost everyone in America has a television set that is programmed by cable or satellite. The wave of the future seems to be in the satellite sector. There are many options available to consumers, including high-definition television services. There is also a number of pay now movies and many premium channels that customers can opt to sign up with. If people have decided to go with satellite TV service, there is more than one way to go. The future customer should weigh the positives and the negatives to see which service will be best suited to them.

The two main satellite TV services come from DirecTV and Dish Network. DirecTV and Dish have the same main programming channels available. The biggest difference between the two is primarily in sports programming. DirecTV has the NFL season pass, which means that there are several games available every Sunday that other people might not be able to watch. The same is true with Dish and the basketball season. If you are a fan of either of these sports, this might be a consideration in your selection.

HBO, STARZ and other premium networks are also available on both satellite TV services. This means that you will have a plethora of movie options, no matter which service you select. One other difference has to do with the satellite receivers. Dish makes their own receivers and they can charge whatever price they deem to be fair. DirecTV also has their own receivers available, but other brands also make receivers that will work just as well on the DirecTV system.

Where to Look for Comparison Shopping

If you want to compare products for each of the satellite TV services, you can go to almost any electronics store and ask questions about all of the options available and the costs. Customers can also call a satellite TV services dealer. Keep in mind that if you call a dealer or visit in person, the company will probably tell you why you should buy the particular product that they sell. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and you will learn a lot from the experience, but it is a good idea to also go to a dealer that represents the other satellite TV services. By doing this, you can collect information about both systems with equal enthusiasm.

Regardless of which service you select, you are nearly guaranteed to be happy with the satellite service that you have installed. The customer service departments for both satellite TV services are top notch. The technical service departments are also great and they work with the customer to make sure that the system is working properly.
