Using A Sauna Tent
By Barbara Pinnington

There are many ways that you can use steam to let yourself relax and that you can enjoy being in a steamy environment that lets you be yourself and be at peace with who you are. If you don't like to go out to the saunas and to other places for relaxation, a thing that you can do for yourself, in your own home, is to create or to purchase a sauna tent. This is a great way to allow you maximum relaxation and a way to truly feel like you are able to get the benefits of a sauna without having to worry about going to one.

What Is It?

You might be wondering what exactly a sauna tent is. It is basically a tent that you can either buy or make that you can get into. Inside of the tent, there is usually some sort of steam device. If you want to create one on your own it is a very simple thing to do because you can buy a personal steamer and set it up somewhere that you can get into. This can be quite dangerous if you don't follow directions, because if you string up a sheet or something to make your sauna tent and you don't leave enough room for air to circulate, the steam device can get quite hot and perhaps cause a fire. So be careful when you are setting up a sauna tent.

The basic premise of a sauna tent is that you are encased in steam. This can happen under a sheet or under something that is more difficult for air to penetrate. The basic idea should be that you are in the tent, and that the steam has no where to escape to. This is going to mirror the effects of a sauna, because when you are in sauna the air has no where to go and the heat and humidity have no where to go but into your skin. The same should be found with a sauna tent, except that it can be something that is easy for you to create and something that doesn't cost very much money for you to make.

There are some factors you need to take into consideration. Part of what makes a sauna tent successful is that you have heat to accompany it. This means that you are going to have to get something that makes hot steam for your sauna tent, and not simply something like a humidifier that causes there to be moisture in the air. The heat is important as well.
