Obagi Skin Care: Restoring the Health of Your Skin
By Linda Rogers
The skin is considered to be the largest organ of the body. According to studies, the skin of adult human beings could reach up to 20 per cent of his or her body weight. Since the skin is one of the first things that could be noticed in a person, it is imperative that we should take good care of our skin. One of the best ways to restore the health of our skin is through the Obagi skin care program. Unlike any other skin care products and programs, the Obagi skin care program is not just about “skin care” but also rather more on “skin health”.
Dr. Zein Obagi, an internationally known dermatologist, originally created the Obagi skin care program. The focus of the Obagi skin care program is to focus on the overall health of the skin and restoring your skin fitness. This program is designed to correct some skin conditions such as those uneven pigmentation, unsightly blemishes, sun damaged skin, those skin with pre-cancerous lesions, skin with large pores, acne, age spots and wrinkles.
The Obagi skin care program emphasizes the unique concepts of stimulating the skin to achieve a more lasting result. Where conventional skin care programs and products would only touch on the superficial areas of skin, the Obagi skin care program reaches into deeper regions of the skin and strengthen the skins ability to produce collagen and elastin thereby promoting healthier skin cells.
Stimulating the skin from within could promote the overall health of the skin thereby making it look smoother and younger looking. What is more interesting about the whole treatment program is that unlike most conventional skin treatment products and programs which tends to have short span effect, this types of treatment can have a longer effect on the skin.
Parts of the Body that Can Be Treated with the Obagi Skin Care Program
The skin on the face, hands, neck, arms, chest and back can be treated through the Obagi skin care program. Although other parts of the body may also qualify for some treatment, the most common treatments are done on these areas of the body. The face especially is one of the areas of the body which is often a recipient of the Obagi skin care program. Since the face is usually one of the first areas of the body, which shows symptoms of aging, a lot of people would usually seek for skin restoration on the face area.
